Postdoctoral Position

Introduction

Postdoctoral positions are available in the computer architecture and mixed-signal VLSI design groups under the supervision of Professor David Brooks and Gu-Yeon Wei, in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. The positions provide opportunities to work at the interface of computer architecture, VLSI design, compilers, and runtime software systems.

A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field is required. The successful candidate should bring experience, enthusiasm and dedication to the group. It is expected that successful candidate will have a proven record of publications in top-tier computer engineering research conferences, and have expertise in one or more of the above areas of interest. The candidate should have strong system (software or hardware) building skills.

Applications should contain: a curriculum vitae (CV), full list of publications, copies of relevant publications, a letter (one-page maximum) describing their strengths for this research project, and names and contact details for three people who may be asked for references.

Projects

  • Design, fabrication, and test of low-power variation-tolerant memories for microprocessor cores (Requires prior chip tapeout experience)

  • Pre-RTL power modeling for multi-core SoC architectures

  • Analysis and optimization of runtime system software / dynamic compilers for power- and reliability-aware computing
