For Rent, Cambridge/Somerville, MA, Sept 2005
We are leaving our sunny, spacious apartment that we've rented for
three years. It is available October 1, and you will be able to store your
stuff before you actually move in if you like. It's a short walk to
Inman and Harvard Squares and is really convienent to things like
groceries, fun night spots, a good pub (The Thirsty Scholar), etc.
The rent is $1475. We are putting up this page as a kindness to our
landlords, the Schellers, who have been good to us while we've been
here.
Here are some details,
a basic floorplan, and
some pictures, and
a map.
If you are interested or have questions, contact Jonathan Ledlie at
jonathan@eecs.harvard.edu or at 617-803-9389.
- It would be great for a couple or up to three friends. It would
probably have enough room for a small child too.
- The neighbors are nice and friendly. They are mostly grad
students from Harvard, MIT, and Tufts, but there are some older
neighborhood residents too.
- It's near Inman and Union Squares, which both have great restaurants, and
Toscanini's (a bakery and coffee shop), Thai Hut, the Thirsty Scholar
Pub, and Dali (a tapas bar) are
around the corner. Two supermarkets are within walking distance.
- It's a twelve minute walk to Harvard's Science Center, a fifteen
minute walk to the center of Harvard Square, and about a twenty five
minute walk to MIT. The 83 and 86 buses are very close too. They go
to Central Square (10 min) and all the way to Boston College (1/2 hour).
- It's on the third floor, so it gets good ventilation in the
summer. You can put in air conditioners if you have them (we didn't
find this was necessary).
- A washer and dryer are in the basement.
- Gas and Electric are about $40 total a month total.
- Heat is included.
- There's a yard in the back which is shared with the two downstairs
neighbors.
- On-street parking is easy to find.
- I think cats and dogs are OK; you'd have to check though.
- One month's rent as security deposit is required.
- It's a three story, three apartment building (so this apartment is on the top
floor)
- The Scheller's (owners) do not live in the building. They live in
Newton, MA.
- The address is 68 Dimick St. #3, Somerville, MA 02143.
