Canoeing the Macal River
After so much time underwater and underground we decided it was time for some terrestrial pursuits. We spent a day canoeing down the Macal River from our lodge in the jungle to -- you guessed it -- another lodge in the jungle. We stayed at Black Rock Lodge, about a 45-minute drive from San Ignacio, which was really fantastic, but basically in the middle of nowhere.
