Tikal
The Mayan ruins of Tikal, a few hours drive over border in Guatemala, are enormous and spectacular. The buildings and temples date from about 500 BC to 900 AD and are mostly covered by dense jungle vegetation. This is the view from Templo IV, also used as a scene in the original Star Wars.
