On the second day of our trip around the southwestern altiplano, we stopped in a small village called Alota. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere, and all of the buildings are constructed of dried adobe bricks. It was a beautiful, desolate place with just a few local people walking around the deserted streets; not long after an entire herd of llama passed through town.
