Isla del Sol, Lake Titicaca
This is the 15-year-old 'captain' of the boat that took us to Isla del Sol, an island in the middle of Lake Titicaca. He's really into his work, and is so good he steers with his feet. Isla del Sol is a beautiful island covered in Inca ruins and terraced hills. The way of life on the island hasn't really changed in hundreds of years: the villages are very poor, and most people make a living by herding sheep and alpaca, or farming. Many travellers visit the island on day trips from Copacabana, but we decided to spend 2 nights there and really explore.
