Lalibela
Lalibela is really just a medieval farming village set in the mountains. Although it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Ethiopia, there are very few of the trappings of tourism -- just a small number of hotels and restaurants clustered on one end of town. Spending time in Lalibela is like stepping back in time hundreds of years.
