Infosys - Mysore

One of the highlights of my stay in India was the opportunity to visit Infosys, one of the largest and fastest-growing IT companies in India. At the invitation of N R N Murthy, the founder and (until very recently) chief of Infosys, I visited the Infosys campuses in Bangalore and Mysore. Infosys' primary market is developing customized software for other companies, including some very large clients such as Reebok and American Express. Infosys personifies the booming Indian IT industry and widespread interest in IT jobs amongst Indian students.

This is a view of the Infosys campus, used mainly for training new employees. The campus houses around 4,000 trainees at a time and is ramping up to a capacity of over 13,000. The campus is huge, modern, and incredibly beautiful -- the large geodesic dome is a multiplex cinema, and there are fountains, swimming pools, a bowling alley, gymnasiums, food courts - you name it.
