Luang Prabang
A flowerpot fashioned from an old U.S.-made bombshell, incongrously placed on the grounds of one of the temples in Luang Prabang. Laos was heavily bombed during the Vietnam War, and even today a large amount of unexploded ordinance is buried in the ground, causing a number of injuries and deaths each year. We often saw old bombs being used in various ways, including longer shells split in half lengthwise and used as fenceposts!
