Ban Na

In many of the villages we saw posters such as this one warning the locals of the dangers of UXO (unexploded ordinance), left over from the war. The locals often salvage bombshells because the metal is very useful (as shown on the previous page). In Nong Khiaw we met a man who is a UXO officer, who spends each day sweeping rice fields with a metal detector trying to locate unexploded bombs.
