Matt Welsh and Amy Bauer

Morocco has a fascinating mix of cultures, juxtaposed between southern Europe and the Islamic expanse of north Africa. It is also an incredibly easy-going place to travel --- despite the crowds of the medina in Fes and Marrakesh, all of the Moroccans that we met were friendly, fun, and enjoyed sharing the beauty of their country. It is an excellent way to experience the wonders of a deeply Islamic culture. We traveled in Morocco for just over a week, hitting the major sites of Fes, Meknes, Marrakesh, and Casablanca, and taking a couple of days to drive into the Dadès Gorge.
