On arrival in Casablanca, we immediately took the train to Fes (about 4 hours away). On the way we met someone who claimed to work in the travel office in Meknes, who offered to arrange a guide. Since we planned on hiring a guide in Fes anyway (there is absolutely no way to navigate the alleys of the medina otherwise), we took him up on his offer. The guide, Aziz, was fantastic, and got us into a hotel. This is the Bab Boujaloud gate, leading to the old medina in Fes.
