Kathmandu Durbar Square

This is a small courtyard off of Durbar Square; the beautiful wood carvings of the windows and pillars are seen everywhere in Kathmandu. Amy is talking with a young boy who showed us around the square for about half an hour, for the whopping sum of 350 rupees (about $5). People are always offering their services as an informal "guide" in the tourist areas, which we found to be extremely useful --- they tend to point out things that you wouldn't find yourself. For some reason none of the guidebooks mention this opportunity -- I wonder why.
