Our last couple of days in Nepal were spent sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu. We went around and snapped photos of a bunch of things which were now commonplace to us but at first seemed rather extraordinary. Here is a typical butcher shop in Kathmandu; there's no refrigeration, and the meat is simply laid out on tables on the street. A hungry dog is no doubt waiting for the shopkeeper to turn away so he can steal something. Note that this is probably water buffalo meat, since the cow is a sacred animal in Nepal and is not killed for meat.
