Mt. Hagen
Our first day in Hagen we took a short walk with a guide in the nearby hills. These people are panning for gold in a stream of mud being washed out from the hillside by two men (not shown) with a large water pump and hose. The women showed us how much gold they had collected that day - little more than a few tiny grains, hardly distinguishible from the grit.
