Baiau Village
The highlight of our trip was the enormous mumu feast that the village prepared on our last day, to celebrate Karina's first birthday. The mumu is a large pit (which the goat is checking out) where a fire is first lit to heat up a pile of stones, which are then placed in the pit along with the food and covered with banana leaves. It's left to cook for a couple of hours. The woman here brought a goat and someone else supplied a pig, both of which were slaughtered for the feast.
