Travels in Papua New Guinea

We left Baiau at about 5 a.m. the day after the feast, catching a series of pickup trucks and vans into Kundiawa, where we got a PMV to Goroka. Unlike Hagen and Kundiawa, Goroka is a friendly, relaxed town and really interesting to walk around in. Lots of people would call out to us, monin, tupela! ("good morning, you two!") and locals would come up just to shake hands. The market in Goroka is fairly large and there is plenty to see.
