Welcome to my small corner in cyberworld. I am Atanu Roy Chowdhury, a student in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Computer Science and Engineering and am part of the Harvard Sensor Network Lab.
My research interests include distributed parallel computing in the wireless world. I am also interested in architecting wireless, mobility and sensor networking solutions. At Harvard I was part of the CitySense project that aims to create a open source city wide sensor networking mesh. Currently I am working on the PIXIE project aimed to design a resource aware operating system tailored for wireless sensor networks. In my endeavors I am ably advised by Prof Matt Welsh.
I grew up in and around Kolkata where I did my schooling from Calcutta Boys' School, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Kalyani. During this period I founded XPRZ COMPUTERS, a small networking company. After my undergraduate degree I moved to Guwahati where I pursued my Masters in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. In 2005 I joined Infosys as a junior researcher in their corporate R&D division. I was part of the Convergence Group, where I co-invented the Elixir framework to bridge wireless sensor networks and enterprise grade solutions.
