In computer vision, we seek to build systems that can visually understand and interact with their environment. Our understanding of such systems is currently benefiting from the rapid development of cheap, high-resolution digital imaging technology---technology that is providing visual data (images and video) of unprecedented accuracy and quantity.

My interests can be roughly broken into three areas: developing methods to acquire meaningful information about the world from this data; finding efficient representations for this information; and applying these representations to visual tasks such recognition, tracking, surveillance, navigation and human-computer interfaces.
